Vultr is a well-known foreign VPS hosting service. It charges by the hour, with a minimum deposit of $10. It supports multiple payment methods, including Alipay, WeChat, PayPal, and credit cards, making it very easy to purchase.

Vultr has data centers around the world, covering North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. In North America, it has locations in Seattle, Silicon Valley, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Miami. In Europe, there are data centers in London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam. In Asia, it has locations in Tokyo and Singapore, and in Australia, it has a data center in Sydney.

As you can see, most of the data centers are concentrated in North America, especially in the United States. In Asia, there are data centers in Japan and Singapore. The cloud services in the U.S. are well-developed, and the quality of data centers is high.

Vultr is known for its flexible pricing model. The lowest configuration for a Linux VPS costs only $5 per month, while a Windows VPS requires an additional $16 per month for licensing fees. The price is very affordable for Linux users.

Vultr allows users to create and delete services at any time, meaning you can easily switch IP addresses and data centers. This is very convenient for testing and development work.

Vultr Data Center Test
Considering the distance, we chose the data centers in Tokyo, Japan, and Silicon Valley, USA, for testing. These two locations are relatively close, so the test results are more representative.

Tokyo, Japan Data Center Test
First, we used the Superspeed tool for a speed test, and the results were quite good. However, further testing with SpeedTest showed that the download speed was average, and the upload speed was somewhat lacking. Despite this, the video download experience was not ideal, as it was very laggy.

Silicon Valley, USA Data Center Test
Next, we conducted the same test on the Silicon Valley data center. Superspeed showed that some data was slightly better than the Tokyo data center. The video download experience also improved, and it was possible to download 4K videos, although with some difficulty.

Vultr Disadvantages
Although Vultr performs well, it lacks live customer support, and the response time for support tickets is slow, making issue resolution less timely. Another issue is that Vultr’s Windows VPS requires an additional $16 per month for licensing fees, which can be costly for users.
